Do the new Military Payday Lending Laws affect the Rapid Anticipation Loans?
A:
Yes. Under the Military Lending Act of 2007, interest on Refund Anticipation Loans (RAL's) is capped at 36% APR for active duty military members and their dependents. H & R Block has developed a RAL product that meets or exceeds the RAL interest requirements as stated in the Military Lending Act. For more information, call us anytime at 876.3415.

Q:
My grandson is 18 years old, lives with me and a is full time student. I plan to claim him as an exemption. What is the maximum amount of income he can earn so I can still claim him on my tax return?
A:
Based upon the information you gave, there is no income limit for your grandson to have earned. As long as he did not provide over 50% of his own support you should be able to claim him. If you would like H & R Block to prepare your return, feel free to visit us today!
